When to Eat Simple and Complex Carbohydrates for Building Muscle Mass
Body builders who want to have an effective workout program make sure that they consume carbohydrates. They know which kind of carbohydrates they need to consume and when do they need to consume them. The simplest way of putting it is that body builders rely on complex carbohydrates before their workout and eat simple carbohydrates after workout.
Complex carbohydrates provide for the energy that you need before workout. They serve as the fuel for the intense exertion of muscles. Without adequate supply of complex carbohydrates before workout, the body will most likely take some of the protein in your body to fuel your workout’s need to exert more. This is not something that body builders would want to happen. Thus, it is important to stuff yourself with the right amount of starchy vegetables, rice or pasta.
After working out, the body does not stop its muscle building processes. The need for simple carbohydrates like fruits and milk is necessary to replenish the fuel needed for the body to continue building more muscles.
